Campaign Notes
Welcome to the Murbos Inc. Pathfinder campaign!
Campaign Rules
For this campaign, the following variant rules from the Game Master's Guide will be used. Click on the links to get more information about each:
Free Archetype - characters receive an extra class feat at 2nd level and every even level thereafter that they can use only for archetype feats. You must take a Dedication Feat at 2nd level to add and archetype. You may only have a limit of archetype feats equal to half your level, rounded down. So, at 2nd level, you have only have one archetype feat, at 4th you can only have a max of 2, etc...
Ex. At 2nd level, you would spend your free archetype feat to take the dedication of the archetype
you want to add. So if you wanted to add a Swashbuckler archetype to your character, then you would pick the Swashbuckler dedication feat with your free archetype feat at 2nd level.
Then at 4th level you would use your free archetype feat to choose a feat for the archetype you
picked.
Rarity - only Common & Uncommon Rarities are allowed. This applies to everything - especially characters and items.
Ex. When creating you character, you may only choose Common or Uncommon, ancestries, backgrounds, classes, and heritages.
When choosing your character's starting items and wealth; you may only select Common or Uncommon items.
Starting Items & Wealth - use the table found on the Archives of Nethys to determine you starting wealth and items:
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2662
You have two options when using this table:
Permanent Item & Currency - you can choose the number of items listed in the "Permanent Item" column and then use the amount shown in the "Currency" column to buy the rest of your gear - OR-
Lump Sum - you can take the money shown under the "Lump Sum" column and just buy everything. NOTE: you are still limited by the item level shown in the Permanent Item column.
Ex. when creating a 2nd level character, you can either take one 1st-level item and then spend 20 gp to buy the rest of your gear. Any money left over is your remaining wealth (pocket money). - OR -
You can just spend 30 gp and buy everything. You can only buy magic items that are 1st level or less and of Common or Uncommon rarity.
You can use the following books to choose or buy your gear (click on links below):
Campaign Hook
Your heroes awake on a beach somewhere with no memory of your background. You are found by a traveling merchant named Hanzo "Koala" Kai-Kang; owner of the Koala Kai Resort (KKR) while on his way back from the markets of Katapesh.
He takes the you back with him to the KKR where you work for him as resort staff while you recover. After about 3 months, you still don't remember your past - the only clue you have is a plank of wood with the words "Knave" carved into it. You have also discovered that you know "how to do things" normal peasants can't do and Hanzo makes you an offer.
Hanzo wants to expand KKR into the City of Absalom, which is located about 250 miles East along the southern coast of the Isle of Kortos. He offers to make you "franchise owners" of the Absalom branch of the KKR if you can help him convince an old friend to part with an old tavern that they own.
The added benefit for accepting this offer is that you'd be in Absalom, the largest city in the world with a large port that sees travelers from everywhere - the perfect place to find more information about your past.
